ARISE Cyber Access Grant

The ARISE Cyber Access Grant with the Community Colleges of Appalachia and the American Association of Community Colleges

Purpose: Increase access to cybersecurity programs, strengthen workforce pipelines, and support underrepresented and rural learners entering cyber careers.

Partners: Community Colleges of Appalachia (regional consortium of two‑year colleges), American Association of Community Colleges (AACC), and other local/regional education and industry partners. Funding may come from federal, state, or philanthropic sources.

Activities supported:

  • Curriculum development and alignment to industry certifications

  • Faculty professional development

  • Student scholarships and wraparound supports

  • Equipment and lab upgrades

  • Outreach and K–12 articulation

  • Employer engagement and development of apprenticeships/externships

 

Intended outcomes:

  • More credentialed graduates

  • Stronger employer–college partnerships

  • Greater equity and geographic reach for cyber training

  • Improved local cybersecurity capacity
